Singapore stocks close 0.69 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 20.35 points or 0.69 percent to close at 2,940.43.

A total of 1.25 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.01 billion Singapore dollars (746.2 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 221 to 163, while 527 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 10.83 points, or 0.37 percent, to close at 2,960.78 on Thursday. Endit
