The 9th Moroccan-Spanish Joint Military Commission kicked off here on Wednesday.

On the sidelines of the commission, the two sides discussed means to boost bilateral military cooperation.

Talks focused on strengthening cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries to solve the issues of mutual interest, Moroccan Royal Armed Forces said in a statement.

The bilateral military cooperation is governed by a Cooperation and Defense Agreement, signed in 1989, which covers training, exchange of visits and joint military exercises.

Morocco and Spain also signed in 2013 a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of emergency management. Endit
