Royal Mail's delivery office renamed ahead of Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday

Royal Mail on Wednesday renamed a delivery office in Windsor The Queen Elizabeth Delivery Office to mark both its 500-year history and also the 90th birthday of the Queen.
On the occasion of the renaming, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited the Windsor Delivery Office on Wednesday. The Queen was presented with a bouquet of flowers by Bob Hartley, the longest serving employee of Royal Mail, having worked there 53 years.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh also visited an exhibition highlighting key events in the postal service's 500-year history and showcasing 50 years of Royal Mail special stamps.
To celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday, which falls on Thursday, Royal Mail will sell 10 special stamps, including a stamp sheet featuring four generations of the House of Windsor, and six special stamps related to the Queen's family life and her official work for Britain.
"We are honoured and extremely proud that Her Majesty The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited the Queen Elizabeth Delivery Office to celebrate 500 years of the postal service. On behalf of everyone at Royal Mail across the UK, we were extremely honoured to have the opportunity to wish Her Majesty a very happy 90th birthday in person," said Moya Greene, Royal Mail's chief executive.
The Queen is the longest reigning British monarch and also the oldest reigning monarch in the world.
A range of celebrations of her 90th birthday will be held across the country. She will unveil a plaque marking The Queen's Walkway, a 6.3-km walking trail through Windsor, and will go to the town center to meet the public on Thursday.
She will also light the first in a chain of more than 1,000 beacons being lit across the world to mark her birthday. Endit
