Morocco, Germany agree to promote investment in renewable energy

Morocco and Germany signed here on Tuesday a declaration to reinforce cooperation in energy sector and promote investment in renewable energy in Morocco.

Under the declaration signed on the sidelines of an economic roundtable on the investment in in Morocco's energy sector, both sides emphasized that energy transition should be considered globally and in synergy with other fields, including transport, industry and construction.

The steering committee and working groups of the energy partnership are mandated to prepare a work plan with concrete goals.

The plan shall include a prospective vision of Morocco in the energy planning by 2050, taking into account the marine energy transfer program, offshore wind and the joint organization of a side-event during the COP22, scheduled for November 2016 in Marrakech. Endit
