Egypt' s Zamalek advance to ACL group stage

Egyptian football club of Zamalek on Tuesday managed to secure a place in the group stage of African Champions League, following a 1-1 draw with hosting MO Bejaia of Algeria.

Zamalek won the series by 3-1 on aggregate after won 2-0 in the first leg of round of 16 in Cairo a week ago.

Striker Faouzi Yaya put Bejaia ahead in the 61 minutes before Zamalek' s striker Hamoudi equalized after a quick counter-attack two minutes to go of the game.

The draw for the group stage will be held on May 24, as the eight teams are drawn into two groups of four.

Each group is played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. The winners and runners-up of each group advance to the semi-finals. Endit
