Spanish stock market index rises 1.01 pct on Tuesday

The Spanish stock market index Ibex-35 rose 1.01 percent on Tuesday to close at 8,971.30 points, up from the 8,881.60 points of Monday.

On Tuesday's session, Mapfre shares led rises climbing 4.79 percent, followed by Mediaset, ArcelorMittal, Repsol, Tecnicas Reunidas and Telefonica that rose 4.54 percent, 4.51 percent, 3.46 percent, 3.11 percent and 3.10 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, Bankia shares led falls losing 4.68 percent, followed by Ferrovial, Banco Popular, Bankinter, Acciona and Banco Sabadell that lost 1.50 percent, 1.17 percent, 1.12 percent, 0.91 percent and 0.74 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Spain's risk premium stood at 137.30 points and Spain's 10-year bond interest rate stood at 1.54 percent, both showing no big differences when compared with Monday. Endit
