British FTSE 100 rises 0.82 pct on Tuesday

The FTSE 100 Index, Britain's benchmark stock market gauge, rose by 0.82 percent, or 51.83 points, to 6,405.35 points on Tuesday.

The share price of Anglo American shot up by 8.49 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Antofagasta, Glencore, BHP Billiton and Fresnillo spiked 7.55 percent, 7.50 percent, 5.25 percent and 5.04 percent respectively.

Mediclinic International led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 3.54 percent, followed by Paddy Power Betfair (2.05 percent), TUI (1.78 percent), Marks & Spencer Group (1.74 percent), and Barratt Developments (1.46 percent). Endit
