Nigeria's cricket team begins training ahead of world championship

Nigeria's national cricket male team has began intense training ahead of the Cricket World League Five championship in Jersey Island, an official said Tuesday.

The team held three series of camping where over 40 players were invited to test their abilities.

Head coach Uthe Ogbimi said 14 players had been selected by the team' s technical crew to participate in the event from May 21 to May 28.

Ogbimi added that the team was making plans for a training tour in Britain which is also subject to the availability of funds.

Nigeria, Oman, Tanzania, Vanuatu, Guernsey alongside hosts Jersey are expected to feature in the event. Endit
