Xinhua, April 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

At least 10 persons lost their lives and seven others seriously injured in an auto crash in Lagos, Nigeria's economic hub, local police said Tuesday.

The accident occurred at about 8.20 p.m. local time on Monday after a coaster bus fully loaded with passengers collided with a car, said Dolapo Badmos, the southwest state police spokesman.

The car was loaded with jerry cans of petroleum products, she said.

"Ten passengers were burnt to death, while seven others, who suffered several burns, were rescued and rushed to the General Hospital, Badagry," she said.

The police spokesperson told reporters that corpses were deposited at the hospital's morgue. The case is under investigation. Endit
