Nepal makes light weight of Namibia in ICC World Cricket League tie

Xinhua, April 19, 2016 Adjust font size:

Nepal thrashed Namibia in its second consecutive victory in their ICC World Cricket League Championship clash at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Monday.

Namibia got off to a solid start, with Stephan Baard and the Under 19 sensation Zane Green putting on 95 runs for the opening wicket but Nepal proved to much to handle, as the Namibian wickets tumbled at will.

Nepal's Paras Khadka's century was the highlight of the match as he scored an impressive 103 runs off 94-balls as Nepal chased down 240 runs in 49.5 overs to seal a three-wicket victory.

Nepal's chase got off to a tricky start when the openers were sent back with just 37 on the board. But Khadka took charge, and it was one-way traffic for the most part thereafter.

Meanwhile, the win lifted Nepal to sixth position in the eight-team table, as Namibia continued to struggle at position 7, having now lost five of the six matches it has played. Enditem
