Three killed, four wounded in S. Philippine clashes

Three people, including two government troopers, were killed and four others were wounded in separate encounters in southern Philippine city of Davao Monday, local military said Tuesday.

The soldiers from Army's 84th Infantry Battalion clashed with armed lawless group in Paquibato District, said Captain Rhyan Batchar, Public Affairs Office chief of the 10th Infantry Division.

Those killed were a soldier, a member of the paramilitary and a member of the lawless group, while two soldiers, a paramilitary and a civilian were wounded.

The government casualties were immediately airlifted to a military hospital in the area. The wounded civilian, who is a pastor in a Baptist Church, was in critical condition. Endit
