Burkina Faso to recruit over 24,000 civil servants in 2016

Xinhua, April 18, 2016 Adjust font size:

Burkina Faso will recruit over 24,000 civil servants in 2016, with about 20,000 of them recruited directly, a statement from the Public Service, Labour and Social Protection Ministry said Sunday.

Public Service Minister Clement Sawadogo who addressed the press in Ouagadougou, said 4,588 posts will be filled through a professional examination, 11,537 posts will be filled through direct recruitment and 7,917 posts will be filled through the newly introduced recruitment model.

The minister gave assurance that a rigorous procedure was underway to competitively recruit a human resource firm that will conduct the examinations to avert fraud that was witnessed last year.

In October 2015, results of the public service entry examinations were cancelled after most of the candidates complained of corruption. About 20 people were charged for engaging in corruption. Endit
