The following are the highlights of Zambia's major media outlets on Monday.
-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu is this week expected to sign a law that will allow the government to control the price of mealie-meal, used in making the country's staple food.
Lungu said it is disappointing and unfortunate that some millers have continued to sell mealie meal at exorbitant prices despite them buying maize from the state owned Food Reserve Agency (FRA) at lower prices.
Lungu expressed displeasure that traders have refused to reduce the price of mealie meal despite the local currency, the kwacha depreciating in recent weeks. (ZAMBIA DAILY MAIL)
-- Dong Feng Motors Group, one of the largest manufacturing companies in China, has launched its subsidiary in Zambia which is expected to build a motor vehicle assembly factory in the near future.
Kang Lihua, vice-president of Dong Feng Motors Zambia Limited said the company has invested about 16 million U.S. dollars in the Zambian economy.
Speaking during the launch, the official said the company intends to construct a motor vehicle assembly plant in Lusaka, the country's capital. (TIMES OF ZAMBIA)
-- An opposition leader in Zambia said his party will remove the immunity of incumbent President Edgar Lungu so that he is investigated for alleged corruption once he loses this year's general elections.
Geoffrey Mwamba, vice-president of the main opposition United Party for National Development, said his party will clean the system if it wins the August 11 elections and open investigations against Lungu, adding that the opposition had a lot of information regarding the Zambian leader's dealings.
Lungu is seeking re-election in the August 11 polls but faces stiff competition from main opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema whom he beat by a narrow margin during last year's elections. (THE POST)

Lungu said the four suspects were found with suspected body parts and that he was happy that some suspects have been arrested in connection with the macabre killings that have hit the Zambian capital.
