Jordan, Singapore call for int'l efforts to uproot terrorism

Jordan and Singapore on Sunday called for continued international efforts to uproot terrorism, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
At a meeting between King Abdullah II of Jordan and Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, the two countries reviewed regional and international issues, stressing that the terrorism is the main threat to the global security.
They called for a comprehensive approach to eradicate terrorism and radical groups.
The two sides also looked into the situation in Syria, where they called for a political solution to end the crisis.
They also discussed efforts to end the stalemate in the peace talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
The Singaporean prime minister commended Jordan's efforts in contributing to Mideast peace and stability, while stressing on Singapore's keenness to boost ties at all levels with Jordan.
Also on Sunday, Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour met with the Singaporean official and discussed efforts to revive the peace talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
Ensour also referred to Jordan's efforts in hosting more than 1.3 million Syrian refugees. Endit
