Hamas armed wing condemns closure of Twitter account

Xinhua, April 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

The armed wing of the Islamic Hamas movement on Sunday condemned the closure of its Twitter account, which had 196,000 followers.

"The action itself and the notification we received on closing our group's account were illegally unclear," Abu Obeida, spokesman for the group, said in a short text message sent to reporters.

"The decision indicates that Twitter is biased and not fair on the issue of the Palestinian coverage of the conflict on the holy land of Palestine and that the company surrendered to the political pressure of the enemy," said Abu Obeida, referring to Israel.

"We will knock at every media window to send our message and reach the minds and hearts of millions of people in spite of the attempts to bury our cause in the graveyard of the media," he said. Endit
