South Korea add two more golds at Asian fencing championships

South Korea continued their dominance in the Asian fencing championships as they won two gold medals here on Friday.

As the individual competitions all finished, South Korea lead with four golds while China and Hong Kong, China each have one gold.

Nam Hyunhee, the women's foil silver medalist of 2008 Beijing Olympics, beat host player Le Huilin 15-14 in the final. The 34-year-old South Korea fencer built up a 11-4 lead after the first round, then Le fought back to make it 14-13 but failed to win the match point.

Kim Junghwan defended his title by defeating Pakdaman Ali of Iran 15-8 in the final of men's sabre individual.

Team events of the championships will start on April 16. Endit
