China's top political adviser meets Gabonese PM on ties

Xinhua, April 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

China's top political adviser Yu Zhengsheng met with Gabonese Prime Minister Daniel Ona Ondo on Tuesday to enhance ties.

China and Gabon keeps a long-term friendship and close high-level exchange, which has laid a solid political foundation for bilateral pragmatic cooperation, said Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

China will make efforts to implement the development concepts of innovation, coordination, environmental friendliness, openness and sharing during its 13th Five-Year Plan period, which highly tally with Gabon's development goals of "Green Gabon, Industrial Gabon and Service-intensive Gabon", Yu said during his meeting with Ondo.

The two sides should align their development strategies with each other, deepen cooperation in such fields as agriculture and forestry, infrastructure, energy, and green development, and help Gabon achieve a diversified economic development and enhance its own development capacity, Yu said.

Ondo appreciated China's long-term assistance to Gabon's economic development, saying Gabon is willing to further expand its cooperation with China in such fields as transport and communications, electric power and energy.

Expressing welcome to more Chinese companies to invest in Gabon, Ondo said Gabon expects China will continue to support Gabon's implementation of diversified development strategies, and help Gabon speed up its industrialization process, and enhance its agricultural technologies.

Yu is paying an official visit to Gabon, Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana from April 10 to April 20, according to a press release of China's top political advisory body. Endi
