British FTSE 100 rises 0.68 pct on Tuesday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Tuesday rose by 0.68 percent, or 42.27 points, to 6,242.39 points.

Share price of Anglo American increased by 9.16 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Standard Chartered, Glencore, BHP Billiton and Fresnillo increased by 5.08 percent, 4.98 percent, 3.91 percent and 3.23 percent respectively.

Ashtead Group led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 2.97 percent, following by Whitbread (2.35 percent), Persimmon (1.75 percent), J Sainsbury (1.75 percent) and Intu Properties (1.70 percent). Endit
