A new film introducing the natural beauty and iconic sights of Britain's Northern Powerhouse to the world was unveiled Tuesday by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).

The short movie shows how the north of England and Wales is ripe for investment.

The video also highlights how its skilled workforce and cutting edge makes the Northern Powerhouse the ideal investment hotspot in Britain.

A spokesman for the DCLG said: "The film is being promoted by British embassies across the world, as well as by trade bodies and Northern businesses."

The stunning footage shows famous cities and iconic art such as the spectacular settings of the Lake District.

The film is the latest instalment of the government's Northern Powerhouse trade and investment initiative.

Northern Powerhouse minister James Wharton said: "The Northern Powerhouse is a global investment hotspot and we are clear it is ready and open for business. This film will help showcase the best of what the north has to offer the world.

"A further 7 million pounds (10 million U.S.dollars) will fund a Northern Powerhouse Investment Taskforce, bringing civic leaders and Northern businesses together to compete on the global stage, highlighting the region's strengths include advanced manufacturing, automotive and aerospace and the creative industries."
