CPC, UMNO vow to advance ties between China, Malaysia

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said here on Tuesday that he would like to see closer cooperation between ruling parties of Malaysia and China to boost bilateral ties between the two countries.

Najib, who is the president of United Malays National Organization (UMNO), made the remarks in a meeting with Song Tao, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

Song conveyed the greetings to Najib by Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is also the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.

China is willing to strengthen exchanges between the two ruling parties and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Malaysia to push forward bilateral ties, Song said.

For his part, Najib asked Song to convey his greetings to President Xi, saying that Malaysia sees China as an important partner and hopes the friendly cooperation between the two parties as well as the two countries would be further enhanced for the benefit of the two peoples. Endit
