Colombian soccer club Deportivo Cali hopes to keep their Copa Libertadores de America 2016 dreams alive by winning Thursday's match against Argentina's Racing, Cuban news agency Prensa Latina reported.
Racing aims to keep their place at the top of Group Three after playing three games, giving them a current total of five points. Bolivia's Bolivar has also amassed five points followed by Argentina's Boca Juniors (3) and Deportivo Cali (2).
Another Colombia club, Bogota's Santa Fe has a complicated task on their hands after drawing 1-1 with Brazil's Corinthians in Wednesday's Group Eight match.
The match against Racing will be decisive for Deportivo Cali, but the Colombian team will suffer the absence of two important players. Rafael Santos Borre and Harold Preciado both have been injured after recently playing for Colombia's national soccer team.
Coach Fernando Castro knows his team has a difficult task ahead of them. In the local tournament, Cali has played 15 games, only winning once and tying twice.
On the other hand, Racing is the top scoring team in Argentina's domestic tournament with 22 goals in nine matches. Endit
