Dollar in mid-108 yen range at start of trade in Tokyo

The U.S. dollar was trading in the mid-108 yen range in early deals in Tokyo on Friday morning, marginally higher than levels seen overnight in New York.

At 9 a.m., the dollar was changing hands at 108.50-51 yen compared with 108.14-24 yen in New York and 108.56-58 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Thursday.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1367-1368 dollars and 123.34-35 yen against 1.1371-1381 dollars and 123.08-18 yen in New York and 1.1404-1406 dollars and 123.80-84 yen in late trade on Thursday afternoon. Endit
