AU approves deployment of election observation missions to Djibouti, Chad

The African Union (AU) has approved the deployment of its Short Term Election Observation Missions (AU-EOM) to Djibouti and Chad.

Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Chairperson of the AU Commission, has authorized the deployment of the Short Term AU-EOM for the presidential elections scheduled for the 8th of April in Djibouti and for the 10th of April in Chad, according to a statement from the pan-African bloc on Tuesday.

The missions will be undertaken from 6 to 14 April, said the statement.

The missions will contribute to strengthening the democratic process in the countries through objective, impartial, independent observations of the elections, said the statement. Endit
