Guangzhou Evergrande of China tied Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan 0-0 in the first half of their AFC Champions League group H match here on Tuesday.

Guangzhou who need a win badly as they tailed in the group with two points after three games, missed two scoring chances in the first half.

After Huang Bowen tested the Japanese keeper with a right-foot curve in the fourth minute, Jackson Martinez missed the loose ball in the penalty spot.

In the 24th minute, Yuki Moto had chance to gift the home side lead but his long shot was denied by Zeng Cheng.
