Xinhua, April 5, 2016 Adjust font size:

A Qantas flight set to fly from Melbourne to Dubai on Monday evening, landed at Sydney airport on Tuesday morning following engineering problems.

The A380 aircraft landed safely and without incident at 6:45 a.m. (AEST) this morning, more than eight hours after it left Melbourne.

A spokesperson for Qantas said one of the engines had a 'slight vibration issue.'

"The aircraft was approximately three hours into its flight from Melbourne to Dubai last night when the captain chose to return the aircraft to Sydney because of an engineering issue and the availability of another aircraft in Sydney," Qantas said.

"One of the engines had a slight vibration issue which was monitored by the crew and also our operations team in Sydney."

The 410 passengers affected by the engineering problem were transferred to another aircraft which departed Sydney at 9:24 a.m. (AEST) on Tuesday. Endit
