Malta's unemployment data for February indicated overall decreases year-on-year in registered unemployment among all age groups, according to a report released by the archipelago's National Statistics Office on Monday.

In February 2016, the number of people registering for work stood at 4,511 compared to 6,190 in the corresponding month last year.

The largest decrease in the number of job seekers was recorded among those who had been registered as searching for employment for over one year. The number of persons with a disability who were registered for work also decreased by 42 people to 381. Men accounted for 79.3 percent of total registrants with a disability.

The Maltese government said in a statement that the current unemployment was the lowest it had been in 25 years, and showed how the economy was growing. Endit
