Four detained in Stockholm suburb stabbings

Xinhua, April 4, 2016 Adjust font size:

Three people were rushed to hospital on Sunday for treatment after two stabbing incidents were reported in the western Stockholm suburb of Husby, local media reported.

Police have detained the three injured men as well as a fourth person on suspicion of attempted murder, public broadcaster Swedish Television reported.

A victim of the first stabbing reported the incident to the police before being taken to hospital along with another person found on the scene, daily newspaper Expressen reported.

A third victim was later taken to hospital from an apartment nearby after another stabbing was reported, police said. However, the police did not confirm whether the two reported stabbings were linked.

Husby, where more than 80 percent of residents were foreign born according to official figures, was the site of prolonged riots by disenchanted youth in 2013. Endit
