Conflict kills 6 including security personnel in Afghanistan

Five militants and a security personnel have been killed as clash erupted in Taliban former bastion the Dand-e-Shahabudin district in the northern Baghlan province, provincial police spokesman Zabihullah Shuja said Sunday.
"The resurgence of Taliban rebels in Dand-e-Shahabudin area three days ago prompted the security forces to immediately launch operations and so far five armed insurgents have been killed and five others injured, forcing militants to flee," Shuja told Xinhua.
He said one security personnel was killed in the conflict which has been continuing sporadically.
Dand-e-Shahabudin, which had served as Taliban bastion in Baghlan province, was captured by government forces a month ago.
Taliban militants have confirmed the clash, claiming that the Taliban fighters have killed three security personnel. Enditem
