-- The 5th year anniversary of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) was celebrated on Saturday at Guba, the project site in Benishangul-Gumuz regional state.

It was celebrated in the presence of higher-ranking government officials including Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn under the theme "the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on which we are putting our footprints today is the beacon of our renaissance". -- A delegation from the European Parliament has assured EU's commitment to further strengthen cooperation with Ethiopia and Africa.
