The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has test-fired "new-type anti-air guided rockets" under the observation of its top leader Kim Jong Un, the country's official KCNA news agency reported Saturday.

The rockets accurately hit the aerial targets of the simulated enemy, the KCNA said without specifying when and where the test was carried out. (DPRK-Rockets)

ANKARA -- One person was killed and 11 others wounded in a car bomb attack by members of the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) against a recruitment office in southeastern Turkey on Friday, private Dogan news agency reported on Saturday.

The car bomb exploded in front of the recruitment office in Kiziltepe town of Mardin province late Friday, killing one Syrian refugee watchman and wounding 11 people including two Turkish soldiers and three children, according to the report.(Turkey-Blast-PKK)

HERAT, Afghanistan -- Eleven people were killed and six others sustained injuries as two mini-buses collided in the western Herat province, a spokesman for the provincial government said Saturday.

"The deadly accident happened in Torghundi highway Friday night when two vehicles collided each other, leaving 11 people dead, including two children on the spot and six others injured," Jilani Farhad told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Bus Crash)

DAMASCUS -- The Syrian warplanes on Saturday struck positions of the Islamic State (IS) group in the countryside of the recently-captured Palmyra city in central Syria, as the ground forces uncovered a mass grave burying the bodies of at least 40 people, state news agency SANA said.

The war jets pounded the IS positions west of the town of Sukhenh and the Arak oil field in the countryside of Palmyra in the eastern countryside of the central province of Homs, said SANA. (Syria-IS-Strikes)

KUALA LUMPUR -- Four Malaysian crewmen were abducted in waters off the country's Sabah state on North Borneo, near southern Philippines, police said Saturday.
