China to recruit 70,000 teachers for rural schools

China's Ministry of Education announced on Friday that it will recruit 70,000 teachers this year for village schools.

Demand for teachers in the least-developed areas will be a priority. Teaching of sports, music, art, foreign languages and information technology will be strengthened.

The ministry urged local authorities to provide proper payment, subsidies and housing arrangements to help teachers adapt to rural life. Endi
