Two men killed in blast while making crude bombs in Bangladesh

Two men were killed and several others injured in an explosion while making crude bombs in Bangladesh's southwestern Jessore district, some 164 km from capital Dhaka, the district's police chief said Thursday.

Anisur Rahman, superintendent of Jessore district police, told Xinhua that "Five people were injured when the bombs they were making in their village house exploded on Wednesday night at about 9:00 p.m. (local time)."

He said all the five injured were rushed to a local hospital.

"Two more persons who were injured in the blast succumbed to their injuries early Thursday."

The official could not tell immediately identity of the bomb makers, one of whom has been arrested. Endit
