About half of Brussels bombings victims foreigners: prosecutor

All the victims of the Brussels terror attacks have now been identified, the Belgian public prosecutor confirmed on Tuesday.

Belgian broadcaster RTBF said magistrate Ine Van Wymeersch had confirmed that 17 Belgians and 15 foreigners were killed in the bombings on March 22.

Among the killed foreigners there were four Americans, three Dutch, two Swedish, one Chinese, one Briton, one Peruvian, as well as one from France and one from Italy.

The nationality of one of the deceased has not been made public.

RTBF added that 94 people remained in hospital undergoing treatment. About half of them were in intensive care and another 30 in a specialist burns unit.

About half of the injured were foreigners with 20 different nationalities. Endit
