Nigeria set for crucial second-leg tie against Egypt in AFCON qualifier: coach

Xinhua, March 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

Nigeria's Super Eagles are ready to come out victorious from a crucial second-leg tie against the Pharaohs of Egypt in an African Cup of Nations qualifier on Tuesday, the Nigerian team coach Samson Siasia said.

Siasia told reporters before departing Abuja that his team will make history in Egypt's Alexandria city, venue of the match.

"We have what it takes to defeat the Egyptians in their home," Siasia said.

Coach Siasia said the team's technical crew would correct the lapses noticed in the first leg match and perfect its winning strategies in Egypt.

A maximum three points will put Nigeria one point atop Group G leader Egypt, who already have four points. Winner of the encounter will qualify for next year's African Cup of Nations tourney in Gabon.

Egypt forced Nigeria to a 1-1 draw at home in Nigeria's northwestern state of Kaduna last Friday. Endit
