Algeria on Monday condemned the suicide attack in Pakistan's city of Lahore, killing 72 people and injuring 340 others.

"Algeria strongly condemns this horrible attack that hit Lahore, the capital city of the province of Punjab, in eastern Pakistan," Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"The attack, which targeted the innocent people who were celebrating a religious feast, confirms the urgent need for the world's cooperation in a bid to efficiently fight against terrorism," said the source.

The statement added that Algeria reiterates its solidarity with the Pakistani people and government, and extends condolence to the family members of the victims.

At least 72 people were killed in an explosion on Sunday night that shook a park in Lahore where Christian people were celebrating Easter feast. Endit
