At least eight people were killed and five others injured after a truck collided head-on with a minibus in Ukraine's central Poltava region, authorities said Monday.

The accident occurred at 5:25 p.m. local time (1525 GMT) Sunday when the passenger bus, en route from the eastern city of Lugansk to Kiev, collided with the truck, said the State Service for Emergencies.
