Xinhua, March 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

Aung San Suu Kyi, chairperson of the ruling National League for Democracy (NLD), Monday urged NLD MPs to cooperate faithfully in parliamentary affairs.

Aung San Suu Kyi made the call while meeting the MPs on the sidelines of a parliamentary session, according to NLD MP U Aung Kyi Nyunt.

U Aung Kyi Nyunt said the meeting had dealt with how to continue the party and parliamentary work which Suu Kyi will no longer be allowed to undertake once becoming a cabinet member according to the constitution.

The Union Parliament has approved the assignment of portfolios of 18 last Thursday, submitted by President-elect U Htin Kyaw to run 21 new government ministries.

And the formal appointment to specified ministries is expected to be announced when the newly-named ministers are sworn in along with the new president and two vice presidents on Wednesday. Endit
