Road accidents kill three people, injure 278 during Easter holidays in Portugal

Three people were killed and 278 injured in road accidents during the Easter holidays in Portugal, Portuguese media reported on Monday.

A total of 256 people were slightly injured and 22 people severely injured in around 800 road accidents from March 24 to March 27, Lusa News Agency quoted police as saying.

There were 106 more accidents recorded during this year's Easter than that of last year.

According to the police, 146 crimes were committed during the Easter holidays this year, mostly due to excessive alcohol consumption and lack of driving licenses. Enditem
