The following are the highlights of Zambia's major media outlets on Monday.

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has expressed optimism that talks aimed at finding solutions to the current political violence will yield positive results.

Lungu said the talks were in good faith and urged other political leaders not to shun the meeting in order to find solutions to the violence that has characterized the country ahead of general elections scheduled for August 11 this year. (ZAMBIA DAILY MAIL)

-- Analysts have warned that recent hikes in interest rates by commercial banks in Zambia will make the financial inclusion hard to achieve in the short term.

The Financial Sector Deepening Zambia, a financial and economic think tank, said commercial banks should "think outside the box" to absorb more people.

Commercial banks have increased interest rates on existing and new loan facilities from 30 percent to 40 percent for some banks.(THE POST) Endit
