Afghanistan condemns terrorist attack in Pakistan's Lahore

Xinhua, March 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

Afghanistan has condemned in its strongest terms a suicide bombing that hit Lahore city, capital of the Pakistan's east Punjab province, on Sunday evening, said the country's presidential palace on Monday.

A suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest at a crowded public park in Lahore on Sunday evening, and the death toll of the suicide blast has risen to 72 with more than 300 injuries, according to latest information released by the Pakistani officials earlier on Monday.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, people and government of Pakistan," the Afghan presidential palace twitted.

"We reiterate that the scourge of terrorism has no boundaries and must thus be confronted jointly through increased regional cooperation," the palace said.

A Pakistani Taliban splinter group has reportedly claimed responsibility for the incident. Endit
