Indian PM calls up Pakistani counterpart, condemns Lahore terror attack

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condemned Sunday's terror attack in the Pakistani city of Lahore in which at least 70 people were killed and over 300 injured.

Modi called up Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday evening and offered his condolences to the victims of the terror attack.

"PM @narendramodi called Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif to express his deep condolences at the terrorist attack in #Lahore," Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup tweeted.

"During the conversation, PM @narendramodi underlined the need for uncompromising efforts to fight against terrorism."

The prime minister also took to Twitter to condemn the blast. "Heard about the blast in Lahore. I strongly condemn it. My condolences to families of the deceased & prayers with the injured," he wrote.

A suicide bomber blew himself up at a public park Sunday while hundreds of people, mostly women and children, were enjoying Easter holiday. Enditem
