Negotiable market cap of Shanghai, Shenzhen stock markets rise 1.62 pct

The negotiable market cap of the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets increased to 35.57 trillion yuan (5.47 trillion U.S. dollars) at Friday's close, up 1.62 percent from a week earlier, data showed.

Total market capitalization of the two stock markets hit 44.85 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.77 percent week on week, according to data from Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges.

The average stock price on the two markets rose 1.58 percent from one week earlier to 10.14 yuan.

The Shanghai stock market has 1,089 listed firms, while 1,758 companies got listed on the Shenzhen stock market.

The benchmark Shanghai composite index rose 0.82 percent from one week earlier to end at 2,979.43. The Shenzhen composite index climbed 2.1 percent from a week earlier to close at 10,339.68. Endi
