Faisal Cheffou was charged with "participation in activities of a terrorist group, terrorist assassinations and attempted terrorists assassinations" as a head, the Belgian media reported on Saturday.

The man was arrested on Thursday as part of the investigation into Tuesday's bombings in the Brussels Airport. A search was conducted at his home. No weapons or explosives was found.

According to the Belgian broadcaster RTBF, Cheffou was identified as the third man, namely the one with the hat who fled after the attacks at the Brussels airport of Zaventem.

On Tuesday, two explosions at Brussels airport and another one at Maelbeek metro station near the European Union institutions killed at least 31 people and injured another 300, according to official figures. Endit
