China's Jiangsu, host Vietnam enter semi-finals at int'l women's volleyball cup

China's Jiangsu and Vietnam's VTV Binh Dien Long An on Wednesday entered the semifinals of the VTV Binh Dien Cup International Women's Volleyball Championship in Vietnam's northern Ninh Binh province.
China's Jiangsu outperformed Malaysia 25-15, 25-20, 25-13 and topped Group A with three wins.
VTV Binh Dien Long An defeated Thailand 25-18, 25-16, 23-25, 27-25, ranking second in Group A with two wins and one loss.
The 10th VTV Binh Dien Cup kicked off Saturday in Ninh Binh Province, some 90km south of capital Hanoi, with the participation of eight teams -- China's Fujian club, China's Jiangsu club, Malaysia, Thailand, DPRK's 4.25 Sports Club and three from Vietnam (VTV Binh Dien Long An, LienVietPostbank and Vietinbank).
The eight teams are divided into two groups competing in round robin format. The top two of each group will compete in the semifinals.
Group A contains Thailand, VTV Binh Dien Long An, China's Jiangsu and Malaysia. Group B sees DPRK's 4.25 Sports Club, China's Fujian, LienVietPostbank and Vietinbank.
The tournament will conclude on March 27.
In 2015, DPRK's 4.25 Sports Club defeated Vietnam's LienVietPostbank 3-1 to claim the title of the first edition. Endit
