(Recast)Kyrgyz gov't says recorded phone conversation on coup was real

Xinhua, March 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

An online audio file that recorded phone talks between Kyrgyz opposition politicians discussing coup plans was authentic, the State Committee for National Security said Wednesday.

A number of former officials were indicated for their involvement in the file, which has been spreading online for days.

Participants of the conversation revealed intention to destabilize the country and seize power, the committee said.

Those involved are Duulatbek Turdunaliev, an aide to the former interim government's interior minister Bolot Sher, Kubanychbek Kadyrov, a former lawmaker and Bektur Asanov, a former governor of the Jalal-Abad oblast. An investigation of the case is underway.

Kadyrov denied the allegation, saying his part of the conversation was edited. Endi
