Iceland's unemployment stands at 3.1 pct in Feb.

Iceland's unemployment rate stood at 3.1 percent in February 2016, registering a decrease of 1.4 percentage points from February 2015, according to a survey released Wednesday by Statistics Iceland.

The survey showed the number of people in the labor market in February was 194,200, among whom 5,900 were unemployed.

Seasonally-adjusted data showed that a total of 196,700 people are in the labor market, and the unemployment rate was 3.2 percent in February, which is 0.6 percentage points higher than it was in January.

Seasonal adjustment is a statistical method for removing the seasonal component of a period of time that is used when analyzing nonseasonal trends. Endit
