The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Wednesday.

-- President Jacob Zuma told his African National Congress (ANC) comrades during the party's national executive committee (NEC) held at St Georges Hotel over the weekend, he was ready to step down if they wanted him to do so.

According to two senior ANC leaders who attended the meeting, Zuma said he was aware there were people within the party's top structure who wanted him out as president. (The Mail & Guardian).

-- Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas's bombshell disclosure about being offered a ministerial post by the Gupta family will be part of the ANC's investigation into "state capture" by businesses.

On Tuesday, Jonas confirmed that he would participate in the investigation that the ANC's national executive committee (NEC) resolved to conduct after allegations were made against the Guptas last week. (Business Day).
