Road accident kills 6 in central Nigeria

Xinhua, March 22, 2016 Adjust font size:

An accident claimed six lives early Tuesday on a highway linking Nigeria's capital city Abuja to Lokoja, capital of the central state of Kogi, authorities have said.

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Kogi State also confirmed 10 other people seriously injured in the road accident involving a truck and a bus.

The incident may have been caused by hazy weather and deplorable state of the road, the road safety office said, adding the truck, laden with bags of cement, lost control and had a collision with the bus.

Those injured in the accident were transported to a health facility in Lokoja, while corpses were deposited in the morgue of the hospital, it said. Endit
