Switzerland condemns Brussels attacks

Swiss President Johann Schneider-Ammann condemned on Tuesday via Twitter the attacks which struck Brussels on Tuesday morning.

Switzerland strongly condemns the attacks which have killed and injured many people in Brussels, wrote Schneider-Ammann, adding that they voiced their supports to Belgium.

"Switzerland is deeply affected by the events which took place in Brussels today, and our thoughts go to the victims and their families," he added.

The death toll has risen to 34 in the deadly blasts in Brussels on Tuesday morning, according to the latest figures.

The number of people killed in the Brussels subway train explosion on Tuesday now stands at 20, with another 106 passengers injured, the city's mayor Yvan Mayeur told a press conference.

Among the dead, 14 were killed in a suicide attack at Brussels national airport, Belgian public broadcaster RTBF said. Endit
