Fire razes market in Myanmar's Mandalay

A fierce fire razed a major market in Myanmar's second largest city of Mandalay Tuesday evening, the local fire department said.

The fire which burned up the Mingala Market, started at 6 p.m. local time, the Fire Department of Mandalay region told Xinhua.

Firefighters were being organized to try to put out the fire which also threatened a neighboring school, a hospital, highway gate and residential buildings.

Until 7:45 p.m., the fired has not been brought under control yet.

Casualties of the fire is not immediately known. Endit
